In my purse you’ll find loose coins, a ridiculous amount of receipts, gum wrappers, and lots of other random trash. I’m an organized person but when it comes to my purses, I don’t try very hard. There are some items that are a MUST for me. This is kind of a mini post of my favorite products but these products can always be found on me.
#1- Perfume (travel size)
I love the small travel sized roll on perfumes because they are fast and small enough to always have with me. I use roll on perfume regularly throughout the day just to stay smelling fresh. Right now, my favorite scent is Marc Jacobs Daisy. Its long lasting and isn’t too overpowering. If floral scents aren’t your favorite, Giorgio Armani’s “Si” is also great.
#2- Lip moisturizer
The lip balm I carry is from a subscription I have with Birchbox. If you don’t know what Birchbox is and you like trying new products you should look into it! Every month they send testers of makeup and skincare products from amazing brands. One of my favorites that I carry all the time is Miracle lip balm by Dr. Lipp. This stuff is AMAZING and 100% natural. It’s light, glossy and very moisturizing.
#3- A bag insert
Despite the disaster my purse usually is, I try to keep it to where I can find things easily. One way I do this is using bag inserts. You can find them about anywhere and they can be super cute. The insert I use is actually a pencil bag but works perfectly to keep things in order.
#4- Lip stain
Also sent in a Birchbox, lip stain is one of my favorite makeup products right now. The one I use is Clarin’s and is called “water lip stain”. It lasts hours, its smudge proof, and you don’t even feel it. This product is a bit on the pricey side but I think its worth it. The product lasts a long time but if the price is an issue, ELF has an “essential lip stain” that is a more affordable alternative.
I hope you saw something you might want to try out while reading this post!
As a college student, Starbucks has become an essential weekly expense. Us students get excited about things like new drinks and new cup designs despite the high cost. That being said, Starbucks announced a change that will fully take place in 2020. This change is in regard to a controversial topic in recent news. Plastic straws, no straws, or straw alternatives?
Oceanconservancy.Org is showing that straws are among the top 10 items found in the ocean and on coast lines-endangering ocean life. The thought that someones straw could end up stuck in the nose of whale has sparked interest in using reusable straws. Starbucks got innovative and eliminated straws completely so of course many people are following their lead. This movement has picked up and now people are wondering, “where do I buy a reusable straw?”, “is this practical?”, and “what kind should I use?”.
Companies have started selling straws made of different materials and its up to your personal preference which you choose. Stainless steel straws are low maintenance and durable but they are temperature sensitive. There are also horror stories of Stainless steal straws chipping teeth so take that into consideration. Silicone requires more cleaning because of mold buildup but aren’t temperature sensitive. Glass straws are obviously less practical because of how fragile they are but they look nice. Bamboo is another popular option if you don’t mind the wood look.
I have recently purchased the stainless steel option from amazon for around $10. So far I don’t mind the switch. The only downside is remembering to take them out of my purse and clean them. I’m going to knock on wood and hope I don’t chip a tooth. I don’t know how much of an impact I’m making on the environment but it makes me feel good knowing i’m doing my part.
What are your thoughts and experiences with plastic straw alternatives? Feel free to leave a reply!
